The era of Floyd Landis has begun.
Yesterday while going through security at the Birmingham airport in route to Chicago, Holly and Michelle walked by, having just arrived from Chicago. It’s mostly funny because at the Birmingham airport the walkway to leave the terminal is right on the other side of the X-Ray machine, so they were just right there. Hmm, well, it still doesn’t seem funny written out here, but I promise it was in real life… the surprise, the immediacy, these things just aren’t captured by words.
Traveling alone is strange. Not good or bad, it just feels wierd. I briefly explored downtown Evanston and Northwestern University yesterday afternoon. I seem to have a thing for ornate old campuses. I had dinner at Panera. They exist in Birmingham, but I don’t think I had eaten at one since Auburn. The interesting thing is that along with my sandwich, I had my choice of sides — chips, a peice of bread, or an apple. I opted for the apple, which turned out to be a Fuji. Mmm, delicious.
