the Complications
Monday I decided to try the car again. It started up and ran fine so I drove it to Oak Mountain. After my run, it refused to start. I waited on the towing company for an hour and finally had it towed to the mechanic. The next day, the distributor cap and rotor were replaced and the car started running normally. Man do I love a good diagnosis. The check engine light was reset, and remained...

A How To Series
Will probably Rid One Of Any Desire to Ever Partake of the Supposed Delicacy, so please Ignore If one Wants to Eat them in the Future. Tonight Brett and I were forced to cook lobsters for my family. Long story, but we had 6 live lobsters, about 3 lbs. each, that had been air freighted in today from Maine. No one else could (would) cook them, so the task fell to us. Using a 22 qt stock pot, alot...

I will take a look around under the hood this weekend. ...

the Accident
Today was a running day. Balmy temperatures and a bright blue sky dotted with puffs of white accompanied the start of the afternoon’s activities. By the time I made it up the white trail to Shackleford point, more cloud cover was present and the sky was a sheet of grey. From the top it was super windy and cold and wild and exciting. I think Chelsea has a stadium now. I could see the...

Yard Work
Today I was busy. Had to cut down trees. Or at least trim the Crape Myrtles. Oh and trimming the Pampas grass, of course. I also had to mend the fences. Some trees had fallen on the chain link partitions in the back yard. And now — now my body is exhausted. Unfortunately, I wore shorts, and the flesh of my shins is covered in innumerable lacerations. I had forgotten this feeling, it...

Sufjan Stevens is The New Black
If amazing indie singer songwriter arrangements were a color, that is. But they aren’t. Sufjan’s stuff is immediately likable, although after listening to it a week or so, it really becomes addicting. Score 1 for his unique and pleasant vocals. Score 2 for the complex arrangements, which are probably the best part. While still possessing that indie lightness, over the entire album...
